Annual reflection: Why it is so valuable — and how you can use it for yourself
Have you already reflected on your year? If not, now is the perfect time!
For me, this exercise is incredibly valuable every year — not only for recording my goals, but also for identifying where I may have gone off track and how to get back on track. Because one thing is certain: Even a slight deviation — as with an airplane — can result in us arriving at a completely different destination than originally planned.
I even make one myself weekly reflection (every Friday), one Quarterly review And — as you can read here — my Annual reflection. This regular self-reflection helps me to live more consciously and to work specifically on my goals.
Why reflection is so important
When looking back at the year, many focus only on figures, sales or milestones achieved. This is an important part, but the emotional level is just as important:
- How did you feel over the year?
- Did you really enjoy your work?
- Have you often been stressed or overwhelmed?
- Have there been moments when you felt particularly fulfilled?
When you reflect not only on the “hard facts,” but also on your emotions, you get a holistic picture of what's really going well in your life — and where you might need to make adjustments.
